Cathy Pouria
Cathy’s gardening inspiration comes from her father and grandmother. She grew up watching her grandma tend to her backyard garden and lovingly preserve her harvest by canning, pickling and freezing. She often remembers her father coming home from work in the summer and heading right back to the garden, still wearing his suit, to check on his tomatoes. Current projects include maintaining a pollinator-friendly garden, learning about medicinal herbs and seed-saving, and dreaming about building a greenhouse! She resides in New Jersey (where she was born and raised) with her husband, three energetic children, and even more energetic golden retriever. In addition to gardening she enjoys reading, writing, amateur astronomy and volunteering on her local Board of Education and Shade Tree Commission.
