Background: Originally from a small town in The Garden State of New Jersey, Jessie now resides with her boyfriend, Brandon, and their dapple dachshund, Tater, on a 1,200-acre farm in Waukon, Iowa. Jessie and Brandon packed up their bags and moved sight unseen halfway across the country in search of a simpler lifestyle. Leaving their roots behind, 400 cows have now become their neighbors and 25 free-range chickens have become their backyard friends.

Forced to cook gluten free, Jessie turned to local farmers markets and the growing of her own foods and herbs to help her Celiac boyfriend eat healthy and stay healthy. Cooking with fresh, “real” foods has enabled both Jessie and Brandon to live a nourishing lifestyle, save money on groceries, and ensure that the foods they’re eating and harvesting are coming from respectable sources.

Jessie graduated with a Marketing and Journalism Degree from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she worked for a coffee magazine, where she was able to experience coffee at origin on the coffee farms in Costa Rica.

Later, she became engrossed in the Garden Center Industry in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, as well as Winneshiek County, Iowa. Currently, she has followed her heart to the coffee shop where she cooks in a scratch kitchen everyday and manages a great team of baristas and chefs. 

Jessie has found her simpler lifestyle, living off the land and cooking delicious gluten-free foods from scratch. Join Jessie, Brandon, and Tater on their new journey of farm life!
