A popular snack at whole-foods stores is kale chips. Make your own using your garden’s fall bounty. These are so light and delicate they will not store well, so make just enough to eat right away.

Ingredients

  • Kale, any variety
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Turmeric, or other spices
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.
  • 2. Wash and dry kale. Cut into “chip size” pieces and place in a large bowl. Drizzle in some olive oil (enough to coat but not drench).
  • 3. Add a little turmeric or other spices, salt and black pepper. Toss to coat.
  • 4. Spread out the chips on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  • 5. Bake for 30 minutes, until crisp.
