Salsa Verde with Avocado Recipe

Salsa verde is an easy-to-make snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound tomatillos, husked, washed and halved
  • 2 small jalapeño chilies, seeded and halved
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt

Directions

  • Place tomatillos, jalapeños, onion, garlic and cilantro in the bowl of a food processor. Process until everything is finely chopped. The mixture will be a liquid.
  • Pulse for ten seconds, or until sesame seeds are slightly pulverized.
  • Store in an airtight container and use within a few months. To serve, sprinkle shiso seasoning on dishes of your choice.
