Moms Across America founder Zen Honeycutt was recently in Washington DC marching in a 4th of July parade to raise awareness about the alterations of our seeds (GMOs) and the effects on our culture. After the parades, she visited the United States Native American Museum. Under a huge black and white feathered headdress she saw a plaque. It read, “To this day, the Native American Tribal Council leaders are elected by the mothers of the tribe. The mothers continue to hold the power to remove a leader based on lack of performance.” Why is this? This is because a community trusts that a mother’s commitment is in alignment with their best interest. A mother’s only special interest is the well being of her family, of all families. America has forgotten this guiding principle and needs to regain our values.
Moms Across America is a National Coalition of Unstoppable Moms committed to empowering millions to educate themselves about GMOs and related pesticides, getting GMOs labeled and offering GMO free and organic solutions. In doing so, we will regain the power, strength and values of the mother in the community, and subsequently, the health and well being of our global tribe.
The problem is that for the past twenty years, when GMOs and pesticides were introduced into our food, unlabeled, mothers have not been able to know what is in our food and trust our instincts. Any mother given the choice between GMO foreign proteins and pesticides or organic food grown with heirloom seeds, would choose the latter. But we have not had this choice. This violates not only common sense, but a fundamental human right. In addition, we moms and many scientists and doctors, see it as the main contributing factor to the demise of America’s health. We are currently last on the list of the top 17 most developed countries for health. Allergies are up 400 percent, autism is up 1500 percent. Cancer is the number one killer of children in America today. We are number one in the world for infant death on day one. The increase in infertility, sterility and miscarriage (30 percent) correlates exactly with miscarriage rates in pigs that are fed glyphosate (Roundup, the world’s number one herbicide) sprayed grains. Glyphosate is also sprayed on non GMO food crops such as barley, soy, rice, corn, wheat, dried peas and beans as a drying agent at harvest. This is not acceptable. “…hold leaders to account for protecting their people and raise awareness about GMO free and organic solutions available now.”
We invite you to get involved in restoring the love, strength and power of motherly values in your community. Everyone either is a mom or has a mom. On behalf of that mom in your life, take action to protect our seeds and traditions, hold leaders to account for protecting their people and raise awareness about GMO free and organic solutions available now. Thank you!
